Mental Health Clinicians

Mental Health Clinicians

If you are a mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs clinician committed to providing a high quality service in a supported environment under strong leadership, we want you.

In return you will work in an expanding service with opportunities in many different areas of mental health and alcohol and other drug service delivery, and for an organisation that values ongoing professional development in teams that are collegiate, supportive and multidisciplinary.

We have a strong focus on succession planning, vital links with Central Queensland University and positive collaboration with our community.

But it is not all about work; teams have great social networking and are a social, close-knit group after hours. They enjoy the lifestyle and attractions across Central Queensland and provide a stable backbone for this great service. You can find out more about the lifestyle, visit Life in CQ.

The expanding clinical settings across our health service includes:

    • New 8 bed Older Persons Mental Health Inpatient Unit;
    • New 20 unit Mental Health Community Care Unit – Sub-Acute transition to independent living;
    • Drug and Alcohol Brief Intervention Team working in an innovative Emergency Department model;
    • Adolescent Mobile Youth Outreach Service;
    • Recently expanded Prison Mental Health Service and Court Liaison Service; and a
    • Newly announced 10 bed Step up Step Down facility for Gladstone.

 We have two staff educators who facilitate a Transition to Mental Health Practice course, Hearing Voices Workshops, peer supervision and a range of other professional development opportunities.

If you are interested there are teaching and research opportunities at Central Queensland University in key mental health disciplines of nursing, occupational therapy, social work and psychology.

We are a recovery oriented serviced that values consumer and carer input, with well documented Models of Service that clearly articulate processes and what we stand for.
